How can we work together?

H3

MY EXPERTISE

I am a Philanthropoid – a person dedicated to working with philanthropic causes, a blend of “philanthropist” and “anthropoid” (the term was coined by Carnegie Corporation staff at the beginning of the 20th century). I’m specialised in private philanthropy. My job is to narrow the distance between the giver and the getter. I work with private donors and social impact investors (individuals or families) helping them grow their social impact ideas and making the best use of their philanthropic resources.

FINDING THE RIGHT PATH

There are many options in the labyrinth of philanthropic choices and finding the right path can be challenging. Some of the key questions that funders need to respond to include:

  • Why give?
  • How to give?
  • When to give?
  • Where to give?
  • To give or to invest with impact?

Philanthropy advisory helps responding to these questions. It is all about helping funders to achieve the desired social impact goals. Advisors can help to select, design, plan and manage philanthropic activities in line with client’s personal preferences and according to existing social needs.

My service portfolio

MAXIMISING IMPACT

Most charities that we donate to are good. But some are better. They go an extra mile and with the same amount of resources they achieve more and better social impact outcomes. Selecting the right means and ways to donate your philanthropic resources is important as by opting for effectiveness you can make your philanthropic activity substantially more impactful.

Philanthropy advisory is about getting the most value out of your donations: helping more people, achieving better quality results, finding the right modalities or partners to work with. It’s about increasing positive social impact created through your philanthropic activity, while optimising approaches, vehicles and instruments used.

When it comes to social impact, sometimes small changes make a big difference. The power of strategic philanthropy lies in finding the right leverage point, a way to intercede with manageable force in order to achieve the maximum good.

WORKING TOGETHER

There are many different forms of philanthropy advisory and while some of them are ad hoc and short-term, some others require longer-term engagement. Some of the typical philanthropy advisory services include:

  • Initial assessment – evaluation of philanthropic options
  • Formulating a personalised philanthropic strategy
  • Selection and structuring of a philanthropic vehicle
  • Development of a Theory of Change
  • Due diligence and selection of grantee organisations
  • Grant management
  • Monitoring and evaluation of philanthropic programmes
  • Philanthropic coaching
  • Project feasibility study
  • Courses, workshops, webinars on philanthropy

If you are considering to engage philanthropically but are not sure whether philanthropy advisory might be a good fit, feel free to contact  and have a chat.

Small changes can make powerful differences in the world - if you know what to change and how to change it.
